Hi,

The medical profession has given many accolades to the JW community for pushing them to look for other methods of treatment when dealing with their members.

Dr. Laura read in her talk show some time ago a letter praising the JWs for making the medical profession look for other alternatives, thus bringing about many improvements to surgical procedures and treatment afterwards.

I've also heard people that aren't JWs refuse blood treatments and then thank the JWs for giving them the liberty to do so while still having the opportunity to receive excellent level of care.

I've been shocked to say the least when I hear these expressions of approval!

Kudos to Lillian Gobitas Klose and all others that force change for the better!!!

i stumbled upon this website a few weeks ago due to the jw.org ridiculousness, since then i haven't been able to pull myself away.

the thoughts, feelings, and concerns i have had the past few years aren't just mine.

it's global.

Hi, and welcome to this board,

We have in common the generational JW backgrounds, also the educational accomplishments. However, perhaps due to our Hispanic culture, furthering one's education and pursuing business ventures is not really frowned upon in my cong and surrounding Spanish congs, regardless of what the Org says; perhaps because we're immigrants and want to better ourselves and the best for our children's future in this wonderful Country (USA).

Also, culturally we're very chummy and gregarious, so very clickly, kissy/huggy/smily, so much attention and friendship for all involved in the congs. Having said that you mentioned the following in your opening post:

"We hold no position in the hall and aren't stellar attendees due to our family, kids, and work schedules."

It seems to me that you're projecting onto the brothers/sisters (JWs) who you both really are: Uninterested. Therefore, this is also what you get from them in return.

It's a reciprocity type deal, you know. Want more, do more, be more, show more. Otherwise, enjoy it here; you'll find plenty of like-minded subjects among these fine posters.

I check it out almost daily, although I can't always answer post due to my vere busy JW/professional schedule.

I make a good effort to answer all the ones that have come such a self-fulfilling prophecy of what the WTBT/Bible teaches.

It's so very much fun, really! Love this website!

This site is for so called 'apostates' to vent about and blame JWs and their Org.

Basically, a website for the most part filled with posters that have become self-fulfilling prophecies, whom made a mess out of their lives all on their own effort and come here to vent and blame the very same people that would've saved them all their problems should they have paid attention to the biblical counsel they were offered.

Lots of loonies here and devious people. Be careful!

i left in 2009, and he followed me out a bit later.

Return to State custody the 3 special needs kids, and get back to what really should've concerned you in the first place: Your kid and your husband. Talk to him; get him get him some help and build a good life.

Get your life back on track for Christ's sake!

As much as we all like to bad mouth the WTBT, we're so good at becoming self-fulfilling prophecies once we leave this co called 'cult'!

catholic churches were known for starting schools, orphanages, resthomes, hospitals along with other ideas like universities.

we can debate who started what but you will be missing the point.

i know some of the best colleges were started by religion, what has the watchtower contributed to society as a whole?

Well,

We JWs are into teaching people how to fish. Most are just into getting the fish without any effort; there are many orgs that will just enable people to keep their current behaviors; some promising heaven just for accepting 'Jesus' as their savior without any other effort on their part. That's not what the Bible teaches!

It's quite interesting watching people on their food give-out lines while having a smoke, or even drunk/high out of their skull.

Like this brother from my cong says: "The Bible says that Jesus turned water into wine, but in my case, Jesus turned wine into furniture and a home and $$$, because I learned to assume responsibility, changed my ways and the money I spent in vices I now spend it in my family and my personal needs."

Now, there's a person I find worthy of spending my time, resources and effort on.

You all are not 'evil apostates'; just disobedient runaways that make their existance an otter mess and then come here to unjustly vent and blame the very people that would've saved you a whole lot of problems should you have followed their biblical counsel.

Then, of course, I must admit that among this group there are a few that were truly victims of predators. Well, the predator kind exists in every group, even in many families regardless of their religious affiliation. It's a humanity problem, really.

The truth often hurts, this is way we tend to avoid it even if it's for our own good.

so tonight just sucks ad i just want to vent to people who don't know me irl.. my wife and i have two kids.

i was still in when we got together but my wife never was.

when we actually got married i moved out of my parents place and never went back to a kingdom hall again.

Wow! You guys' cognitive dissonance is as bad as a JW stuck inside! Do you not realize the problems you're creating for yourselves, your lives, your marriage, your kids???!!!

The massive amount of stress, disappointment, financial stress, a mess, a total and all over mess!!! All manufactured by your troubled selves!!!!!!!!!!

What is this vicious cycle I observe on several posters of this board? It appears that not until their lives is made a horrible mess, by their own making, are they really content! WOW!!!

Hey, how about reading the topic on that person that's divorcing her husband of 13 years; look it up by clicking on 'Active Topics'. Perhaps by reflecting on the fact that this can be your situation down the line if you keep up this craziness may help you in someway.

Go to a shrink, a social worker , a marriage counselor, your pastor, whomever; you all need help, but not the kind you're searching for.

This "baby fever/biological clock/baby envy" women go through can be waited out as it goes away with time. It's a biological thing with the woman's body and psyche; having a baby is not the solution. Very possibly this very thing exacerbates the problem.

May you and your family find happiness and conformity in your current situation, in what 'is' and not what 'could be'.

"Born ins", huh? But, definitely not practicing what taught as "he's an alcoholic". Hmmm......

"Three of our kids are adopted, special needs", huh? Hmmm....... Ever gave any thought about the consequences of complicating you life/adding this kind of stress to your life/marriage?

Ohhh, the difficult situations/problems we create for ourselves......
